Taking Back The 2000s

Paris Hilton is that you? While it feels like we saw Lindsay Lohan's mugshots just yesterday, twenty years have passed since the start of the 21st century. Fashion is constantly changing and evolving, although there is one era of style we just can not seem to get out of our heads! The early 2000s are just too bomb to forget. As we navigate the fashion world (and real world) that is 2020, there is a comfort in the ideas of our past. There is comfort in butterfly clips and low rise jeans, as well as a good ol' fashion juicy couture tracksuit. While there were many fashion woes tied to the early 2000s, there is no denying our Pinterest boards are loving this blast from the past. So make yours lips extra glossy, because these trends aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Here are some of my personal fav, unique items from the early 2000s that are on the comeback!

1. Dior everything.

Monogrammed Dior pieces were a fun staple in the early 2000s, but all of a sudden everywhere I look, they're back!! I have seen a lot of pink Dior monogram items, like handbags, shoes, bandanas, etc. But what I cannot escape is the Dior hightop converse, they're everywhere! And I LOVE it!

2. Handbags.

Small handbags are all the rage right now! Often paired with a cargo pant or more masculine looking fit, they add a touch of femininity and playful girliness. These small handbags were simply adorable in the early 2000s, and they still are now, especially if you can toss a designer one over your shoulder (prada, dior, louis vuitton, etc.)!

3. Bandanas.

Bandanas are back, but the real question is, how did we ever let them leave, BEYONCE is wearing one! I repeat how did we ever let bandanas leave? With the exception of the rhinestones, bandanas are back, and in cute prints too. I love this trend, but can someone please show me how to wear a bandana and not look like my dad after he hits the gym. kk thanks!

4. Cargo Pants.

Cargo pants are probably if not the most popular, one of the most popular trends right now. Dating back to the early 2000s, these pants were always a statement, and in my opinion you had to be a certain type of person and cultivate a certain vibe to be able to wear a pair of cargo pants. However, cargo pants are not only for the skater chicks anymore, they are an everyday, slap on a pair of converse, casual yet trendy garment that always prevails to give off immaculate vibes.

5. Colored lens sunglasses.

I have mixed emotions for these sunglasses, however anything that is bejeweled immediately demands my respect (legitimate rule in the bible), so I bow down to pink-tinted sunglasses.

6. Von Dutch Hats.

There is no denying it, von dutch trucker hats are coming back. The idea of these hats coming back is heavily hated in the fashion community from what I've observed, however if you're going to go back to the 2000s, do it right. Do it with a hat once worn by Paris Hilton, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and many more icons of the early 2000s. Follow the pink checkers and glitter, and you'll be on the right track.
